A voice talks over images in which landscapes emerge. A desert, dry soil, with not a single living being and a female voice discusses a country: Spain. These images were filmed in the Alicante region, a dry area. The landscapes reflect the current difficult situation in Spain, creating a comparison between the living conditions with the images – a lack of water and life alongside some beautiful landscapes. Some Western films have previously used Alicante and Almería as a film set, also known as Spaghetti Western. However, this region has not been used since as a set. Following the images, my mother’s voice discusses her perspective of the past, present and the future of our country.
